Synopsys Defensics X Test tool updated for use in latest version of the ISASecure® cybersecurity certification program
Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, USA (11 July 2017)—The ISA Security Compliance Institute announced today that the Defensics X CRT test tool recognition was recently upgraded to support ISASecure EDSA 2.0.0 and SSA 2.0.0 certifications.
Communication robustness testing (CRT) is one of four dimensions of control systems certifications. CRT tools are also used for network stress testing during system level certifications. With recognition of the Defensics X Test tool, Synopsys joins the growing list of industry leaders supporting the continued growth and expansion of the IEC 62443 based ISASecure IACS cybersecurity certification scheme.
The ISASecure® test tool recognition process confirms that the CRT tool’s test suites meet the ISASecure CRT requirements and are capable of consistently executing ISASecure certification tests.
ISCI recommends that suppliers use ISCI recognized CRT test tools during the product development and testing phases to identify and correct network-based security vulnerabilities. Using recognized CRT tools during the development process also aids suppliers in preparing for formal ISASecure product certifications.
The Defensics X Test tool registration and certificate can be viewed on the ISA Security Compliance Institute (ISCI) web site (www.isasecure.org).
"Defensics has been used in ISASecure EDSA certifications for several years now,” stated Andre Ristaino, ISCI Managing Director. “Expansion of capabilities to support SSA certifications and ISASecure version 2.0.0 updates, demonstrates Synopsys’ commitment to securing critical infrastructure and support for the ISASecure certification scheme.”
