ISASecure's New HCSA Certification Scheme ... The What, When & Why!

ISASecure is partnering with the US National Security Agency (NSA) to develop the High Criticality Component Security Assurance (HCSA) certification scheme for commercial operational technology (OT) components sold by manufacturers and procured by the US government for use within National Security Systems (NSS). HCSA is derived from the well-established ISASecure Component Security Assurance (CSA) certification scheme and adds additional product security requirements found in the NSA/CSS Cybersecurity Technical Report titled "Operational Technology Assurance Partnership: Smart Controller Security."

Bio: Dr. Mark P. DeAngelo is the Program Manager of the ISA Security Compliance Institute (ISASecure) and the ISA100 Wireless Compliance Institute. He provides staff leadership for ISA’s conformance certification programs.

Previously, Dr. DeAngelo worked as a systems safety engineer working on autonomous systems and commercial derivative aircraft at Boeing Defense, Space & Security. Before joining Boeing, he worked as the Aerospace Initiatives Manager for SAE International, where he served as SAE’s spokesperson for advanced air mobility standards and integration activities, collaborating with SAE, NASA, FAA, ICAO, international civil aviation authorities and industry.
