Certification Bodies

The ISA Security Compliance Institute (ISCI) does not operate an internal testing lab, but instead, partners with qualified labs to perform industrial automation and control systems (IACS) cybersecurity assessments. An ISCI ISASecure Chartered Laboratory is a third party certification body (CB) authorized to conduct conformity assessments using ISASecure certification specifications which are designed to certify to the IEC 62443 cybersecurity standards.

ISASecure labs are independently accredited by ISO/IEC 17011 Accreditation Bodies (AB) to the ISO/IEC 17065 international standard for CB’s and ISO/IEC 17025 international standard for test laboratories. The current list of ISASecure CB’s who perform cybersecurity assessments are posted on the Accredited ISASecure Certification Bodies web page.

The AB’s are signatories to multilateral recognition agreements (MRA) via the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) which establishes mutual recognition of accreditation on a global basis through a peer review process. This arrangement promotes global recognition of conformity assessment certificates and reduces the need for multiple regional assessments (and costs).

Accredited ISASecure CB’s are authorized to issue certificates of conformance under the ISASecure logo and certification scheme.  Three certifications are currently offered under the ISASecure scheme; the certification names are:

1.    Embedded Device Security Assurance (EDSA) product certification for components
2.    System Security Assurance (SSA) product certification for IACS systems and,
3.    Security Development Lifecycle Assurance (SDLA) process certification for IACS development organizations.
